What is HHC? Learn from the experts at Leafy8.

With the hemp and cannabis industry continuously growing, exploration of these plants has never been more compelling. Every day, the science behind these products advances more and more, opening new possibilities. Advancements like these have led to the public having access to new cannabinoids. One of these cannabinoids is called Hydroxyhexahyroconnabinol (HHC). This lesser-known cannabinoid has effects unlike others on the market. Our experts will be exploring what HHC is, how it works in the body, as well as its legal status across the United States. We are also preparing to launch an all-new product featuring this cannabinoid. We’ll be announcing it at the end of this blog, so stick around and find out!

What is HHC?

Hydroxyhexahydrocannabinol, often known as HHC, is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in hemp and cannabis plants and is a derivative of THC. However, similar to Delta-8, it only occurs in small concentrations. To create a usable quantity for retail sale, HHC is manufactured in a laboratory setting. This is done by subjecting concentrated THC to pressure, hydrogen, and a catalyst.

Due to hydrogen being added, HHC has a surprisingly long shelf life. While it may sound off-putting, this process does not change the effect profile significantly.

What Are The Effects of HHC?

Many seek out HHC for its psychoactive effects. It has similar effects to Delta-9, though it is slightly less potent by weight. While THC offers a more sedated relaxation, many report HHC to offer a milder, more clear-headed experience. It can offer relaxation and euphoria without as much “brain fog” or intense feelings. This compound is suited for those looking for a more functional, “daytime” experience.

HHC can also be more gentle in terms of side effects. For those who suffer anxiety and paranoia after consuming THC, many find HHC to offer a balanced and enjoyable experience. This gentleness makes it an option for those wishing to incorporate cannabinoids into their daily routine. Be aware that these effects are not guaranteed for everyone, as many factors change how cannabinoids affect each person. It’s always wise to conduct individual research before consuming anything mood or mind-altering, especially into daily life. Those who are under the guidance of a physician should seek their opinion as well before consuming HHC or other hemp-derived THC products.

Legal / Regulatory Status

HHC, like many hemp-derived cannabinoids, falls under the 2018 Farm Bill legislation and is legal on a federal level as long as the total Delta-9 THC concentration is less than 0.3%  by dry weight. However, each state has their own rules and regulations surrounding hemp, and they can vary dramatically from one region to the next.

Some states have explicitly banned these compounds, while others rope Delta-8 & HHC under their medical cannabis rules. Most still freely allow the distribution and consumption of HHC without added restrictions. You can find a list of states that we are shipping orders to on this page. Before purchasing or consuming HHC, always be sure to check your current local laws.

Infused HHC Products

Just like any cannabinoid, HHC can be infused into many types of products, such as edibles, vapes, and concentrates. Leafy8 manufactures all of our products in-house and we have a line exclusively catered towards HHC. We have 28 amazing Vape Cartridges to choose from, Gummies, Dabs, and Pure HHC Distillate.

HHC has gained attention in recent years and has become an appealing option for those seeking a more functional experience. HHC is a derivative of THC and is less potent by nature. This compound can offer a more clear-headed, functional high and be a safer option for those sensitive to the side effects of THC. While its legal status is still ambiguous, it has opened a new chapter for the world of cannabis and hemp exploration. For our part, we are looking forward to seeing what lies ahead.

Leafy8’s New HHC Products: Tri-Blend Gummies

Very soon, Leafy8 will be releasing a limited run of Tri-Blend Watermelon Gummies! Each gummy is packed with 90mg of HHC, 30mg of Delta-9 THC and 10mg of Delta-8 THC. That’s a whopping 130mg of hemp-derived goodness inside of each gummy! They’re made using our proprietary vegan recipe that leaves no aftertaste or bitter residue. The watermelon taste is quite sweet and delicious, but do keep in mind: these are very potent edibles.

We advise those with a low tolerance to take only a quarter of a gummy. Only those who are used to consuming our 100mg Delta-8 THC or HHC gummies on a regular basis are encouraged to eat the entire gummy. If you’re in Central Florida, ask your local Leafy8 Budtender about our Tri-Blend Gummies and be among the first to try them!
