Orlando’s Ultimate Fall Bucket List: Central Florida’s Best Things To Do This Season

The evenings are finally cooling off, and the shop’s been playing more of its “fall” playlist than its “summer” one. Regulars keep asking us the same question: what’s actually worth doing around here this season? Central Florida doesn’t really do sweater weather. Still, it absolutely does fall — from haunted houses and pumpkin patches to farmers markets and a Winter Park weekend that smells like wine and fresh paint. So here’s our Orlando fall bucket list for 2026, plus an easy way to close out any one of these days.

Quick summary: This fall’s must-dos around Central Florida include Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando (Aug. 28–Nov. 1), Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld (Sept. 11–Oct. 31), the family-friendly Brick-or-Treat at LEGOLAND Florida (select dates through Oct. 31), and a day trip to Great Scott Farms’ pumpkin patch in Mount Dora. Also on the list: three signature Winter Park events — the Saturday Farmers’ Market, Cows ‘n Cabs (Nov. 5 & 7), and the Winter Park Autumn Art Festival (Nov. 14–15).

1. Halloween Horror Nights — For When You Want a Real Scare

If your idea of fall fun involves being genuinely startled by a stranger in a hallway, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights is the one to circle. This year marks the event’s 35th anniversary. It runs select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026. Expect haunted houses drawing on Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and Sinners alongside original concepts, plus the return of icons Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. Just keep in mind: it’s a separately ticketed, after-hours event for teens and adults, not a daytime family outing.

 

2. Howl-O-Scream — SeaWorld’s After-Dark Alternative

SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Scream runs select nights from September 11 through October 31, 2026, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. Expect five haunted houses, six scare zones, roaming monster hordes, themed bars, and nighttime thrill rides. However, it’s a separately ticketed, mature-audience event, and daytime park admission doesn’t cover it.

3. Brick-or-Treat — The Family-Friendly Pick

For a Halloween outing that skips the scares entirely, Brick-or-Treat at LEGOLAND Florida runs select dates from September 5 through October 31, 2026. Regular park admission covers it. Plus, this year the park debuts an all-new Brick-or-Treat Street with life-sized LEGO Monster homes and the nightly Monster Skytacular drone show. LEGOLAND built the whole event specifically for families with kids ages 2–12.

About 45 minutes north in Mount Dora, Great Scott Farms’ Fall Festival runs Saturdays and Sundays from September 26 through November 15, 2026. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Think corn maze, pumpkin patch, a jumping pillow, a 60-foot super slide, a local farm market, and beer and wine for the grown-ups. In short, it’s a full-day, bring-the-whole-crew kind of outing.

5. Saturday Mornings at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market

The Winter Park Saturday Farmers’ Market runs year-round, every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Central Park West Meadow at New York Avenue and Morse Boulevard. Locals consistently rank it the top produce and plant market in Central Florida. Plus, you’ll find local baked goods, honey, and plenty of fall produce as the season turns.

6. Cows ‘n Cabs — Winter Park’s Big Food & Wine Weekend

Cows ‘n Cabs returns to the West Meadow for its 14th year on November 5 and 7, 2026. Thursday’s “Tapas & Tinis” is a smaller, ticketed evening of bite-sized plates and martinis. Meanwhile, Saturday’s main event brings more than 30 restaurants, 60-plus beverage vendors, and live music to downtown Winter Park. Overall, it’s one of the region’s best-loved food and wine weekends, and it’s walkable from Park Avenue.

7. The Winter Park Autumn Art Festival

Closing out the season, the 53rd Annual Winter Park Autumn Art Festival takes over Central Park on November 14 and 15, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s the region’s only fine art festival featuring exclusively Florida artists. Plus, it pairs the art with live entertainment, a beer garden, and activities for kids along historic Park Avenue.
